Supplement sourcing
Formulation, contract manufacturing and documentation for vitamins, minerals, botanicals, omega-3, proteins, probiotics and beauty-from-within products — built around the market you actually sell in, not the one that is easiest to manufacture for.
What we source
| Category | Typical formats | What decides the cost |
|---|---|---|
| Vitamins & minerals | Capsules, tablets, gummies, sachets | Which mineral salt and its elemental content; tablet size and coating; the number of actives per dose |
| Botanical extracts | Capsules, powders, liquids, shots | Extract ratio and standardisation, raw-material origin, pesticide and heavy-metal testing |
| Omega-3 and oils | Softgels, liquids, emulsions | EPA/DHA content, oxidation control, packaging format, fishery or algal source |
| Protein & sports | Powders, sticks, ready-to-drink | Protein source and content on a dry basis, flavour system, banned-substance testing |
| Probiotics | Capsules, sachets, sticks | Strain selection, CFU at end of shelf life, moisture control and packaging barrier |
| Collagen & beauty-from-within | Powders, sticks, gummies, drinks | Peptide molecular weight, source species, flavour and the branded-peptide licence |
| Functional beverages | Cans, bottles, concentrate | Preservation and shelf life, pH, thermal process validation, filling and canning capacity |
What actually drives your unit price
- Batch size versus MOQ. A manufacturer runs a minimum batch; below it, you pay for the whole batch anyway. This is the single biggest lever on first-order pricing.
- Number of actives. Every additional active adds a raw material, a test and a stability risk. Twelve-ingredient formulas cost more than they look.
- Standardisation and branded ingredients. A branded, clinically studied ingredient costs more and gives you a claim you could not otherwise make.
- Labelling and claims. Getting the label right the first time is free; getting it wrong means reprinting packaging, which is often the most expensive line in the project.
- Packaging. Bottles, jars, tubs, sachets and sticks have different tooling, freight volume and barrier properties — and barrier properties decide your shelf life.
The documentation we require per order
- Batch-specific certificate of analysis: identity, potency, heavy metals, microbiology
- Third-party accredited laboratory report (ISO/IEC 17025 scope visible)
- Real-time stability data for the agreed formula and packaging
- Raw-material specification and supplier declarations for key actives
- Allergen, additive, novel food and NDI statements where applicable
- Market-specific label text with mandatory warnings and claim substantiation
- Manufacturing site certificates: GMP or ISO 22716 with verifiable scope
Supplement sourcing questions
What are the MOQ and lead time for a first supplement order?
It depends on the dosage form and whether the formula and packaging already exist. Stock formulas with your own label are the fastest and cheapest route, while a custom formula with new tooling takes longer and costs more. Ask for a quote with your volume and market and you will get a specific answer rather than a range from a brochure.
Can you match a product that is already on the market?
We can match a specification — the same actives at the same dosage in the same format — with your own formula and branding, provided there is no trademark or patent issue. We will not copy a competitor's packaging, brand name or trade dress, and we will tell you when a request crosses that line.
Do you formulate, or do I need a formulator?
Most manufacturers have in-house formulators and will develop from a brief. For more complex or clinical positioning, a specialist formulator working with the manufacturer produces a better result. Either way, the finished formula must be assessed against the rules of the market you are selling into, including permitted forms and maximum levels.
What does the documentation pack contain?
A batch-specific certificate of analysis from an accredited laboratory covering identity, potency, heavy metals and microbiology; stability data for the agreed packaging; allergen and restriction statements; and for the destination market, the labelling text with the mandatory warnings. Certificates are matched to the batch on your invoice, not to the product in general.

Tell us the product, the market and the volume. This form opens your own email client — nothing is stored on this website, and there is no account to create.
What happens next
- We confirm whether the specification is viable in your market and flag anything that is not.
- We come back with indicative pricing, MOQ and lead time from manufacturers we have assessed against the standard on this site.
- If you want to proceed, you order a paid sample from a production run.
- Only then does a production order and deposit make sense.
What we will not do
- Quote you on a product whose claims would not be legal in your market
- Pass on a certificate of analysis that is not batch-specific
- Take a payment for stock we have not verified
- Hide the manufacturer — you will know who makes your product
