Privacy notice
Short version: the calculators run in your browser and send nothing, we do not run advertising trackers, and the only personal data we hold is an email address you deliberately submitted.
The calculators
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you type are not transmitted anywhere, not stored, and not associated with you. Refresh the page and they are gone. You can verify this by using the calculators with your browser's developer tools open: there are no network requests carrying your input.
What we collect
- Nothing automatically, beyond standard server logs kept by the hosting provider for security and reliability — typically the requested page, the time and coarse technical information such as browser type. These are not used to build a profile of you.
- Your email address, if and only if you subscribe to the newsletter. Subscriptions are confirmed with a double opt-in link, and every email contains a one-click unsubscribe.
- Whatever you choose to send us in an email or through the contact form, which opens your own mail application rather than submitting to our servers.
- A theme preference (light or dark), stored locally in your browser under the key
bizonow-theme. It never leaves your device.
Cookies and local storage
The site sets no cookies for advertising and no cookies for cross-site tracking. It uses your browser's local storage for one thing only: remembering which colour theme you chose. Clearing your browser data removes it, and the site continues to work normally without it.
The email list
The newsletter is the only thing on this site that holds personal data.
- Why: to send you the newsletter you asked for.
- What: an email address and the date you subscribed.
- Who else sees it: the email service provider used to deliver the list, which processes it on our behalf. The list is never sold, rented or shared with advertisers.
- How to leave: one click on the unsubscribe link in any email, or an email to [email protected] asking to be removed. Removal is permanent and immediate.
- How long: until you unsubscribe, or until the newsletter stops publishing — whichever comes first.
Analytics
At the time of writing this notice, the site runs no third-party analytics and no behavioural tracking pixels. If that changes, this page will be updated to name the provider, describe what is measured, and explain how to opt out before the change takes effect.
Third parties
The site is served by a hosting provider, which necessarily processes requests in order to deliver pages. Beyond that, there are no embedded scripts, fonts, videos, social widgets, advertising networks or tracker libraries loaded from third-party domains. That is deliberate: fewer external requests means fewer companies holding data about your visit, and faster pages.
Sponsor and other external links take you to another company's website when you click them. Nothing is loaded from those sites while you are here, and once you arrive their own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to receive a copy, or to object to its processing. In practice, the only personal data this site could hold is the email address on the newsletter list.
To exercise any of those rights, write to [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days, and we will not ask you for anything beyond enough information to identify the record.
Children
The site is published for people running businesses and making purchasing decisions, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this notice
When this notice changes substantively, the date at the top of the page changes and the change is described in the site's update notes rather than made silently. Material changes affecting the newsletter list are also announced by email before they take effect.
