How we work

About BizoNow

BizoNow is a beauty and wellness sourcing platform. We place production for supplements, wellness tea, skincare and health tools with manufacturers we have assessed against a published standard — and we publish everything we use to do that responsibly, free, because a buyer who understands the rules makes the whole market better.

What the site is

Six desks: two sides of one business, and the reference data between them.

  • Sourcing — Supplements, skincare and health tools from vetted manufacturing partners: private label, MOQ, samples, QC and documentation.
  • Wellness tea — A whole system for functional and herbal teas: sourcing and blending, the botanical reference with caffeine and cautions, market classification and what a slimming tea really contains.
  • Free lookups — Open reference data anyone can use free: ingredient index, certification decoder, label rules by market, supplier due-diligence checks.
  • Consumer desk — How to read a supplement label, judge a testing claim, spot a fake seller and get your money back when something goes wrong.
  • Library — Every free guide in one place: running a small brand, importing and exporting, and the glossary behind the jargon.
  • Toolbox — Free calculators that run entirely in your browser: private-label cost, landed cost, margin and break-even.

Everything is written in English and deliberately currency-neutral, because the arithmetic of margin, duty and cash flow does not depend on which currency you work in. The calculators take your numbers in whatever currency you choose.

Why a sourcing platform gives its reference data away

Because the information is not secret — it is scattered. The same three facts decide most sourcing outcomes: what a certificate actually covers, which ingredients can legally be sold in a market, and how a supplier behaves when asked an awkward question. Those are published by authorities somewhere, in language most buyers do not have time to work through.

  • A brand comparing certificate scopes is protected by the same reference a consumer uses to decide whether a testing mark means anything.
  • A buyer checking whether senna can legally be sold as a tea in a market is asking the same question a drinker should be asking about a "detox" blend.
  • A distributor pricing a product needs landed cost; the person buying it wants to know what the price includes.

Publishing both sides in the same place also keeps us honest. It is hard to write a marketing claim in the morning that the reference page you published in the afternoon would contradict.

How the site is funded

The business is sourcing and quality assurance: we earn a margin on orders we place with manufacturers. Alongside that, the site has one disclosed sponsor, Herborigen, whose websites are linked from a labelled block on the home page and in the footer. That block sits outside every guide and reference page, and its links are marked as sponsored so they are never mistaken for an editorial recommendation.

There is no paywall, no display advertising and no affiliate link inside a guide — a reference page is only useful if you can trust that the recommendation was not bought. Other revenue, if introduced, will be one of these and will be labelled where it appears:

  • Display advertising, kept out of article bodies and clearly separated from editorial content.
  • Paid tools or templates for the minority of readers who want something more than a free calculator.
  • Reader support, if enough people find the site worth it.

What will not happen: paid rankings, reviews written to order, or a guide whose conclusion changes because a supplier paid for the placement.

How the site is built

A few deliberate technical choices, because they affect how you use the site:

  • Static pages. No tracking scripts, no cookie banners to dismiss, no waiting for a framework to load.
  • Calculators that run locally. Every figure you type stays in your browser. Nothing is transmitted, stored or associated with you.
  • No account, ever, to read. There is nothing to sign up for in order to see an answer.
  • One email list, double opt-in, and it is the only thing we ask for.

Where to start

If you are sourcing, start with what we source and the supplier standard. If you are checking a supplier you already have, run the due-diligence check. If you are buying for yourself, start with reading a supplement label or a tea label. And if you only want the numbers, the landed cost calculator is the one to open first.
